Looking down into a corner of my brother-in-law’s garden. Late afternoon light; hand-held; a slight tweak in Levels, otherwise straight out of the camera.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Good light helps to show the interesting variations in brick colours, and I like the details of the moss.
Roger

These little natural vignettes are such pleasing sights, and so intimate. Beautifully done.

A nicely captured bit of detail, Moira. The soft and the hard, with colour and texture too.

Oh no! That's done it...I've probably alienated Bill now...I was going to give Bill my user award as his shadow shot is excellent, but you have just 'pipped him at the post' with this shot Moira, it was the colours what done it!

Do you think he will ever forgive me?

Oh Dear...

kind regards,

Robin

P.S. I hope you won't gloat, it'll just make things so much worse.

Unlike rust in metal and steel Moira,a sight like this will be a thing of the past. They use a different process to make bricks nowadays, and you will not see this weathered and decayed look any more.!! I for one will miss it,so I am forming a new society to work hand in hand with the RAS.Please apply to me in the first instance, for membership to the Brick Appreciation Society Towards Alternative Rust and Decay. !!

Thank you so much Robin. I promise I am not gloating too much, and Bill says he is taking it on the chin.
And thanks to everyone who has visited here today. Please note Mick's new organisation *******, membership cheques to be sent presumably wrapped round bricks...
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I'll try to do a bit of catching up but I'm on Bill's laptop because he's nicked my machine and I REALLY HATE LAPTOPS..

Just popped back to comment on this one as I didn't have time yesterday. I think that the colour, contrasts and composition are all pretty special.

the three bricks lend a fine backdrop and gives this a sense of formalism to contrast with the creeping ivy
