Detail of a reconstructed Viking dwellinghouse at Hedeby (Haddeby/Haithabu), near Schleswig. Before anyone suggests that it's a bit of a lash-up - I'm saying it myself Smile

Thanks for all the votes and comments recently. We're heading for home later today and 'normality' should resume until the next interruption when the French Town Twinning group arrives for a walking week-end – on Friday!

V1 for me Bill - you can't beat a good mono sometimes and this one is full of texture and interesting 'form'. Excellent work!
kind regards,
Robin

Normality is something we all strive for and rarely acheive I find. It's always good to get home again. This would make a cracking print with a hint of sepia toning IMHO, I don't really do humble.

An excellent composition, lovely detailing, and I simply can't make up my mind which I prefer - both work perfectly.

Can't choose between these Bill. Love the tones of the colour, but the textures show more in the mono. Super composition. Is there a normality to be resumed? If so can you give me a clue as to where to find it, much appreciated!

Rather like the mono version too. A fine abstract, Bill.

Just 1 complete day of normality then so make the most of it. Hope it stays fine for the walking.

I mentioned on Moira's upload Bill, how I was a bit worried as I like seeing metal all pristine and polished now.My worry is being aggravated here as I prefer the MONO one !! Must be a mid- life crisis or something.Hang on,I have already had that one.Can you get an old age crisis ?
Super shot.
Mick.

I think the colour one today, that bit of slate(?) really sets it off.

Very well captured, Bill - hard to decide between the mono and the colour, but I think the colour just wins!

For me, V1 just works that little bit better. The colour in V2 is fairly washed out anyway, so it may as well be.

It took me a few seconds to work out the angles. It did strange things to my eyes for a bit, but I got my head around it eventually.

Nice one Bill.

It's only a blind man - that's unable to enjoy this excellent mono shot. I love it.
Some pictures work best in mono - and for me this works a treat
