You're lucky to have him in your garden. There is a strong light from the left which has put the right side of the lizard in shadow so that only one eye is visible and the inside of the mouth becomes very dark. Try capturing him with the light more balanced, and that can either be with the light directly upon him, or all of him in the shade. This image has a lot of potential because the detail you captured is good, as is your depth of field.
