Good shot of the horse Rachel. I think I would have concentrated on getting the exposure of the horse right as he (or she) is so large a part of the pic and then let the rest of the pic follow. In other words I would not have bothered with hdr. The thing is for me the clouds are very bright and there are a lot of them so they compete to a certain extent with the horse. But the shot does give a good impression of a summer's day in the country.

I have to agree with both comments above and I would personally have cropped around the same place as Frank.
But on a high note it is great subject and scene for a wonderful hdr photo.

i would not have known this was HDR - that is a huge compliment from me! However, you shouldn't have needed it. The background is a bit distracting here - the ideal image being a much tighter crop on the horses head - the interesting bit.

Clone out the overhead cable.
