We were incredibly lucky one evening when our guide took us to a spot which was one of the elephants' favourite crossing points on the river. As the sun began to sink, we could see the elephants assembling on the far bank, and just before it got too dark for photography the matriarch decided it was time to go!
It's hard to describe, but it was almost a spiritual experience watching these majestic animals crossing the river with the sun setting behind them......a sight not seen by many people. Made even more magical with the hippos in the foreground.
Thanks to people who commented/voted on my last upload, and a special thank you to pluckyfilly for her UA.
