A lone hyena has a face-off with a committee of vultures, over the carcass of a buffalo which had been trapped in the mud.

In V3, a maribou stork was pacing up and down waiting for his turn to get into the action, and in V4, an elephant ignores the whole scene, and more hyenas can be seen sitting it out further up the river bed.

At 4.30 I've just added V5 which is a100% crop from V1------shows the action much better!

An excellent set of images telling a story of survival of the fittest...the vultures are going to need the hyena to open the tough skin before they can feast.
