Taken in afternoon light - Levant mine has undersea levels stretching more than a mile out under the Atlantic.

Busy decorating (perhaps more of a major makeover) so please excuse the fact that I have only had time to comment on a few of your images.

Thank you for looking and to everyone who has commented and voted on recent images.

Best wishes
Carole

A fine composition, Carole, and I was thinking along the same lines as Herman, do they mine tin there? Carol

I'm guessing this would have been a tin mine? A super capture, Carole, and what a splendid view you have here Wink

A working tin mine for over 110 years, today no longer working but the surviving buildings and ruins are now looked after by the National Trust

These Cornish tin mine buildings make such excellent subjects in the coastal landscape here, Carole: whilst many are derelict, this one seems to be in a fine state of repair and from what you say presumably still operating.
Very nicely captured shot.

They make wonderful features on the Cornish coastline, and the light is particularly good on this one, Carole.

Must have been a wonderful feat of engineering in it's day

I actually met and carried out some work, for the American who reopened the Wheel Jane, back in the early '80'sWink

As I recall his name was Sprinkle and he purchased a country home in Derbyshire

A fine coastal landscape showing us these disused mines which are an important part of Cornwall's heritage.
