Photographed today in North Wales.
Well quite annoyed... (thanks,)
Nice picture and good use of natural light.
Wow, brilliant shot Ron! Gorgeous bird, the perfect perch and great background! Spot On! CLick!!!
excellent composition, colour and texture, natural history record well seen and caught and should grace any book on British and European birds, eyes pin sharp, guddun.
Great shot with good dof.
Fantastic shot, great detail and clarity. Love the light focusing on the bird.
Thanks for the comments. At least 4 and possibly 5 of these owls have moved onto a developing industrial estate in North Wales. By parking the car at the edge of one of the vacant plots and waiting, one is usually rewarded by the sight of one of thes magnificent birds flying close by. I was very lucky today because this individual landed on a perch placed there especially by a keen photographer (other than me). That photographer was not there today but I am very grateful to whoever it was! The bird's left eye and most of the left side of his face was slightly darker than the right and I have adjusted this in the software, the background has not been changed.
That's interesting, I was talking to a chap at Parkgate a few weeks back and he was saying there was an industrial estate near him in N.Wales where he would go and just sit in his car and they would fly around. Maybe it was you, or the guy who put the perch there?
I really love this one. Beautifully exposed (and sensitively adjusted).
Superb. What! you werent at the Wales v Ireland game? Alan.
