A close inspection of the interior of a red poppy in my daughter's garden.
My thanks as ever to all who commented on Peaceful Haven.

It looks like it's on fire, Ronnie.
I won't be the only one to sing its praises, but I think it's an exceptional image and gladly give it my UA.
that is a very vivid floral detail. It really jumped out at me and little did I suspect it was yours. ( I suspected Jenn

Beautiful rich colour and something new. Nature sometimes repeats a design. Purple center looks like a starfish. Sharp!
Strong close crop, Ronnie, it does look good enough to eat. Lovely texture and colour.

Wonderfully rich colours Ronnie, grand work my friend.
Dougie
Rich in colour with superb detail, good framing well presented, it's Ronnie's has to be, outstanding image.

Wonderful frame filler.. Sharp centre focus full of textures and colours.. Superb
Stunning close-up, Ronnie - I never seem to have much success trying to photograph poppies ![]()

A bold image. The DoF choice means your petals are blurred but that way they cleverly frame the centre, an effect reinforced by the square crop and the contrast with the bitingly sharp centre is good. You have the light falling almost like a spot light on the interesting centre which as Dave says, looks edible (wrong type of poppy Dave!
). I think it clever and striking and memorable.

Al
