the composition makes me think this is the British version of a torii.
Very good.
it also would get my UA if the horizon was straight WinkWinkWinkWink What happened? the distortion is only on the left (here I need a very puzzled icon)

A sad sight to see the burnt out remains of the pier, was the same for me at Hastings this afternoon!
However, an interesting composition Ron and I'm liking the blue tones!

My best wishes to you and Maggie for the New Year!

Indeed it is sad to see the pier in such a state: lovely bright winter day for your foray to the coast.
Ronnie.

Strong shapes, Ron, and some lovely warm light on those pier supports to contrast with the blue tones.

So very sad. The old pier is stranded out there like an abandoned ship.

Love the composition, Ron. Very reminiscent of ruined Greek sites - a Greek temple and an isolated clutch of pillars. I like the blue, too, and the hint of pink in the f/g; suspect it would make a fine mono nonetheless.
Happy New Year!
Regards
Bill

What this photo doesn't show is how cold it was, standing till well after dark, holding the tripod case!

A wonderfully exposed composition, the skeleton frame of the once great Pier now lying quiet as the grave...

It does look very cold. But no crowds and no rain. Excellent.
