I'm grateful to my friend whose work I admire and who kindly suggested several alternative approaches to one of my earlier uploads here ... this is one of them!
Any feedback (+/-) welcomed!

Striking portrait. Excellent presentation.
Lovely shot, Susie.
Very striking. Your friends advice was sound.
This is great! Is he available?!!!
I like it, the crop works well and I like the B&W treatment you have given it.It could be a little sharper, but its not bad considering thats quite a hefty crop from the orginal. Looking at the orginal I think I would have used the 'other side' of his face, its better looking!
Good use of space Susie - funny how the bits without anything in them (inc the border) can be as important as the subject isn't it?
It's such a great picture that, as I was eating my lunch with one hand I couldn't resist doing an alternative take on it with the other. Hope you don't mind a couple of mods made whilst eating a rice cake!
Good stuff Susie.
really superb Susie. Liked the original, but this lifts it a level higher. And the presentation is perfect for this. You should show it to the guy... sure he'll love it
have to say I much prefer this version (mho)
lovely shot well done
This works well; a much better presentation, excellent.
Like it! Works well, Nice tones used..
Really works well, the presentation is spot-on.
Thank you Iain, Michael, Cathy, Si, Vinny, Angela, Tess and Ron for taking the time to view and comment ... it's much appreciated!
lol Wendy - not sure, but I'd certainly happily photograph him again!
Hi Martin - appreciate your considered feedback, as always. Actually elected not to apply any sharpening to this at all, so a sharper result is certainly an option.
Richard - thank you so much for taking the time and effort to prepare the mods! I love the way there's so many potential images within any single capture. Your thoughtful impressions are also welcomed, as always ...
Koen - thank you for your valued comments, I'm grateful for you dropping by!
great image ...interesting crop and presentation !Spot on you .....
Cheers Oliver - thank you for looking ...
I couldnt resist a mod, whadda think?
great image, like the toning very much. click
quickly visited the modifications. I think the sepia colour is the best. Its composition is interesting and the image is razor sharp.
Nice work Susie
Strong image, well done!
Hi Martin - thank you so much for going to the trouble to prepare a mod! Your version is close to one of the other crops suggested by my friend, and I agree that it's probably his 'best side' ... thank you once again!
Cheers also Robert, James and Sam ... very grateful for your impressions!
great shot, love the crop and tone, fab work.Glad to be no 30 !!!!!!
I think my mod might look a bit bland, although better looking! and his ear seems distractingly large, even though i blurred it.Anyway food for thought. Well done on getting an rc.Three in a row and I will have to upgrade you.
Thank you, Tracy - appreciate your feedback!
Thanks also, Martin - I prefer the version above too but grateful for you considering alternative approaches ... oh, and upgrade me from what to what? lol
works very well
Economy to Business.
Thanks so much, Maggie ... and well that's okay then Martin! Would certainly much prefer luxuriating at the pointy end to strap-hanging at the back of the aircraft! lol
Youv'e got to get the RC first.... Otherwise you stay in cattle class.
lol () *pout*
Lovely use of framing and focus.
Thanks so much, Luke ...
smart crop!... nice work!
Striking, love the off centre approach and the tones used here. The crop works well with the strenght of his jawline.
Thank you Peter and Colleen - appreciate you each dropping by ...

Nice work, Love the eye & tone of shot overall. Pooch
Cheers Alex and Pooch ...
This is just superb..the toning, clarity, DOF, and presentation are particularly good. Easily your best image to date, despite some tough competition!
