Great shot - can't help feeling it needs rotating through 90 degrees though.
click.
Great composition, good detail, very well captured indeed.

Really appreciate your feedback everyone - thank you!
Dave - agreed ... I wanted to blur the background before posting, but as a newbie I have yet to develop PS skills to the desired level. I recently enrolled in a PS course, but regrettably I've subsequently had to cancel due to work travel commitments. :o(
Will certainly fix when I posess the knowhow ... thank you very much for your suggestion - I'm certainly keen to learn all I can!
Susie :o)
I disagree about the rotation. It is fine and gives a different result from the 'norm'. I like this a lot. One point.. I am not a great fan of framing images on this site. This is a great shot but loses a little because of the frame. I would suggest don't do frames, Your shots stand out well on there own... IMHO..

Susie this is great :o) I love the picture, but I'm also in awe of the quality of these pictures .. this is just so clear and crisp. Excellent .. *click*

Great work Susie, love the clarity of detail and stunning colours, you've really used the light well on these...Click, Mac
Great sharp detail and wonderful colour, the pose is well caught to make an unusual composition.
Almost graphic in the sharpness of detail - excellent. Very well spotted and captured √ΜΛЯΚ
deserves an award, soooo, INDIGO AWARD , so very original and beautiful, click (*:*)
Love it, beautiful subject - big click (get that DOF right Susie and you're on to a winner with these shots)
Excellent Susie... Difficult lighting well controlled. Like the colouring and tonality very much...

Portraits of birds aren't really my cup of tea but this is fantastic.
I love the sharp detail and the sharp lines of feathers sticking out.The colours here are also very nice and the eye is unreal!
The exposure is good with no burnt out areas and I like the crop and frame...
The only downside is that the background is a little distracting but I wish I had it in my collection - well done.
Caleb.
Liking the sharpness, detail, and richly saturted warm tones.
Just a fraction tight on the lefthand crop IMHO, you've given him a bit of a haircut! ![]()
As for the background a shallower depth of feild would give the blurring effect that would 'finish' the shot, without the need for a any photshoppery!
Hi Blue eyes...Of all the websites in all the world you at to surf into this one. (He says with a Humphrey Bogart drawl) ! LOL An absolutely marvellous shot and the clarity and composition are amazing. Well seen. You say the bird's preening himself ?
One weensy query Susie being an ex cop with a long nose and still an ace investigator now, on closely examing that's bird's eye in shot, my experience tells me it looks distinctly dead to me !. Is it an expired parrot ? ...(Now using my John Cleese Monty Python Parrot sketch voice) ...Is it a Norwegian Blue ? Lovely plummage ! Are you sure it's not adopted that strange grotesque head position because you nailed it to the perch before shooting it, or is looking like that on account of it being 'shagged out' after a long 'squawk' ?Is it pineing for the Fiords ? I know you Oz women, you twist and turn like twisty turney things ! ROTFL ... Okay ...It deserves a click...click !

Was looking at a recent upload of a close up of a pelican and couldn't make it out at all, so have come to look at some of your shots. Settled on this one again to comment - it's such a fabulous pose and detail - and also to thank you for your recent visit. ![]()
Still tied up off site with moving house and numerous other things, seems never ending!
Hi there Lydia ... always appreciate you dropping by - and especially given time is such a precious commodity for you right now! Best of luck with the house move - packing's never much fun, but it will all be worth it when soon you're comfortably settled in to your new home ... just make sure you wrap your Waterford crystal and Ming vase collection very c a r e f u l l y !
Susie :o)
