After my very nice brunch last Saturday I headed round to Balmaha and played in the woods for a while. I found these teeny muchrooms growing on the underside of a log well off the beaten track, which was just as well really as I was lying on the ground, camera at peculiar angle on tripod, flash gun perched precariously on gorillapod, and camera kit strewn liberally around me!

It's the first time I've tried mushroom photography, so I've a long way to go I know! I used a 13mm extension tube on my 50mm 1.8 lens, off camera flash on E-TTL, f/8.0 at 1/25 sec.

C&Cs welcome Smile

Camera:Canon EOS 20D
Lens:Canon 50mm 1.8 + 13mm extension tube
Recording media:RAW (digital)

Could have been a nice shot but unfortunately most of it is out-of-focus!
For closeups like this using flash, use as high an "f" number as possible

Thanks guys. No. as Mike has suggested, I wasn't aiming to get it all sharp - using extension tubes and a tripod, I really was only aiming for the bigger mushroom to be sharp.

Mike, sorry the weather defeated you, next time Wink
