Well one of us had to be enjoying the arctic conditions out!

From trip to the Highland Wildlife Park on Sunday. It was a balmy -11 C out (not just there but from when we left home). This is Mercedes, late of the Edinburgh Zoo, and just revelling in the snow. She'd made snow angel bear shapes, burrowed into it, and rolled around in it. At this point she was having a wander round her enclosure, although the stuff on the end of her nose was from a burrowing session a few minutes previously.

You've done really well here Katy as I've been there and she's not fond of posing. Maybe you've a special way of attracting her attention? You must have been a good distance away as well, so kudos for the exposure and steady hand/tripod as well!

Thanks guys. I was lucky she'd decided to wander about, so I raced ahead of her down the hill, and turned and shot handheld through the gap in the fence towards her. I think she was probably looking my way because she couldn't believe any eejit would run down that steep hill in the snow lol

Lovely portrait Katy, such beautiful animals and great to have captured the eye contact and the snowy conditions.
No comment on the eejit, you do what you must to get the shot Wink

Great shot!! I especially love the cold background and the bits of snow on the fur really add to the chill factor!!

Lovely shot. The white balance looks a touch on the blue side, from the snow behind her.
