Observing the old and new of Islington
135 (206)I was recently asked to observe and capture the old and new of Islington, for an assignment set by my university. I looked at how I could portray the borough in a positive manner through using innovative camera angles and techniques, such as panning, motion blur, motion freeze and depth of field.
I aimed to look at the parking facilities, residential areas, retail establishments and road signs, that would give the local area a safe and secure look. I went from the most complex idea and imagery, to the more amateur. Using a variety of camera angles also helped the finalising of many of the images, as some objects in each of the images were not seen in the frame at portrait or lanscape.
As Islington is famous for playing a part as the more vintage and traditional area of London, I studied the church of Islington in great detail; along with the painted advertisements on the side of buidlings.
