This Desirable Residence (Des Res in propertyspeak) is just down the road from where I live. (Thankfully not that closeWink) It has been uninhabited for some years, except during the winter months when it is a welcome refuge for the odd homeless traveller or two.
So I thought it was about time to indulge in a bit of Urbex as it, well, is there, and is open so no breaking in required.

I have given the images a gritty look to match the overall look of the interior. The images out the camera looked far too good for the reality, if you understand what I mean.
As Mikbee would say, it needed som grot.Wink

Thanks for all the recent interest, and thanks for bothering.

Malc

What a fabulous subject, I could have serious fun here!
V1 and V3 my favourites, out of a great set. V1 wins I think by a whisker - the use of the low viewpoint creates terrific atmosphere.

Great interesting set.. Good amount of dirt & filth captured. Think V1 works best.. With the composition & light on the sofa.. Well done for daring to venture in... What, no rats ?

Cracking set, Malc. All mod cons despite the grot. The special treatment is well judged.

Grot upon grot here, Malc: need a few skips and more than a trip to B and Q to sort that lot out.
You must be glad it's not just next door.
Very fine record of the desolation and despair.
Ronnie.

Love your processing Malc for the ''added'' grot.
I think V2 is the star of the show.
And did you put your hand down the back of the ''sofa'' in V1 to see if there is any cash there !!
Super grotty set.
Mick.

What you've done is turned this old ruin into a grot palace, they'll be flocking here from all over the globe to capture this much decay.

What a great find Malcolm. A lot of photographers in this area are touring the countryside to find locations like this. I would have made these last 5 days worth of uploads as they could all stand alone. Your treatment is spot on.

Reminds me of some of the homes I used to clear when in the antiques trade, and that beautiful couch in V1 is a dream, would love to restore that, and am surprised it's still there. Thanks for a glimpse behind the door.
