Time to get all close-up and personal with "The Sphere"

This crop made me think of the original sputnik, (which was shot into space as long ago as October 1957) because of the rods sticking out of its rear. This version is a tad larger than the original which was a mere 23" diameter. However, i don't think you'd get this one in orbit!Sad

That perfect deep blue sky makes a perfect backdrop, and is straight from the camera, it really was this deep hue of blue.

Many thanks for all recent comments, they are appreciated.

Thanks for bothering.

Malc

Lots of lines, angles and geometric shapes in this shot, Malc, the study looking good against the uninterrupted blue of the sky: the smaller areas of green and yellow add a nice wee counterbalance though.
Ronnie.

Yes, I remember the launch of Sputnik! It does look rather like it...Wink Great close-up, Malc, and it contrasts very well against that beautiful blue sky Smile

So glad you are showing a closeup of the central sphere, Malc, it's just as wonderful as I envisaged, and beautifully reflective.
Did you hear any beep-beeps emanating from it?
Being so much larger than 23", yours has far more radio antennaeTongue. Also, it might have trouble reaching 18,000 mph like Sputnik 1.
