Yes I approve of the crop, it does away with distractions top and bottom of frame, and concentrates attention on the implied 'direct eye contact'. Well thought out.
Sometimes I think it takes time to explore an image's full potential. I'm still working on one of mine that's already seen two outings here in different guises. This one is worth the extra effort.

I loved it before Malcolm and I love it now. The crop is better and does focus the eye more, although the subject matter is so powerful anyway. Brilliant!
