This was taken at 14:56hrs one day early in December.

Please view large

The sun was on its way down, and the valley was filled with a combination of low cloud and fog.
The sun, through this curtain, was more the colour of the moon than its golden self.
The uneven strip of light under the cloud barely illuminated what looked like a haunted forest.

f/6.3, 1/1600sec, ISO100, focal length 147mm

Thank you to all who took the time to look at and comment on yesterdays upload.

Marvellous shot. Eerie. One of those shots that give you a warm glow (pun intended) when you're there to capture it. Large is a must to appreciate the detail. Like it!

gives a spooky atmosphere. wonder about a crop off the top to take the sun away from the middle of the image. just a thought.lesley

Has a very eerie, haunted feel about it. Love the tones and textures.

i do like the crop to the top and the left, it takes the sun out of the middle but youve retained the spooky light rays, get my approval.lesley

V1 for me Malc. There are times when a centred image works a treat and this is one of them. There is a drama to it that starts to disperse in the more traditional composition.
