I've never shot a rook (thanks to podgod and andywiseman for the ID) before - I never realised just how difficult they are to get close to. To get this I hid in my wife's car with a window open and covered myself and my kit with a blanket - even then the slightest movement would send Mr Rook on his way before I even got my finger on the shutter - amazingly skittish birds.

defo a rook,largest member of the crow family,well caught.been thinking of a similar shot myself,but not got round to it!
