Hi all,
Taken today at the feeding station. Frequently getting woodpeckers now and thrushes, usually song thrush or redwing. Unfortunately, I am never in the hide when the thrushes are out there and the woodpecker comes out into the open when I'm not there but stays on the other side of the feeder when I am.
Hope you like it.
Sam.

Patience is a virtue Sam - stick at it - it doesn't happen overnight - I had spent nearly two years trying to nail a Greenfinch until I nailed a half decent one![]()
Watch and learn from the bird's habits![]()
Do they come in from the left, or the right? - might depend on the wind

That's the potluck nature of it all. Being in the right place at the right time. Stick with it- you'll get lucky Sam. This is an excellent shot and stands out well against the bg. Like the pose. I got lucky at RSPB Leighton Moss the other day with a bittern, marsh harrier and otters but have had loads of days of nothing really. It kinda makes those special moments really special. Paul
