I would'nt class this as a portrait, Mabelle, even though many will. A shot taken and presented like this is definitely moving towards the art side of impact...not the inside of a the family photo album.
I think I would have moved the shape top left into the centre, as it just looks a little out of place for me at the upper side all alone.
