I'm just posting this photo to show off the colors. I really like the way the colors look in this shot. It makes me think it's something special, because of the Foveon senor in my Sigma camera. Of course, I'm not totally sure about that. It's maybe just a biased feeling, because I really don't know for sure how the colors would have turned out from a Sony A55 (my last camera with a CFA sensor) or a new Nikon D5300 (a camera I want to get).

It's certainly colourful. A great shot of beach life.

Yes, Forveon sensors have a reputation for doing thigns differently - though it's generally possible to process to get any look you want, the Sigma way gives something rather lovely right out of the box. Looking at the histogram, the tonal range is remarkably well controlled, which is almost certainly part of the look: the histogram police would possibly say that there aren't enough extreme highlights, but I feel hey'd be mistaken!

And I also love the way that this is packed with human interest, without looking the least bit voyeurstic, as beach shots often do.

A lovely, summery shot.

Beach Life is actually the name of the collection of photos I'm working on right now. I want to produce two dozen shots for a gallery show, then somehow get them printed and frame them, so I can hang them in the local library for a month. I've been working on this project for a few years now, and I think I'm almost there. I don't know if I'll include this photo, but it's interesting that you said it is "a great shot of beach life." Thanks!

Lovely beach shot, images like this always make me wonder about the way people interact.
Wherever the picture is taken the people always seem to leave the same, and just enough, space between
themselves. and always close together. Even on beaches with plenty of space to spread out.
Should be a very interesting Collection.

Dave.
