...a trip to the Moor yesterday eventually. I found that the roads were much better out of town, the gritters had done their work and you could see the black stuff all the way North. -11.5 degrees in Crianlarich en route.
stunning view brilliant image
A fantastic frozen expanse of virgin snow...you are soooo brave to venture out to the moors in that weather...hope you had a flask of hot coffee and a duvet in the back of the car!!!!
Superb image you can feel the coldness.
The hot soup was wonderfull Marie, a duvet in the back of the car on your own is no fun.
A beautiful image. My goodness but it looks cold and I think you have conveyed that well by including the frosted vegetation in the foreground.
Beautiful scene Doug, brave of you to venture out.
A fabulous winter landscape Dougie!
A beautifully bleak snowscape - well worth going out for.
Wow, looks like you must have been the 1st one one there with the camera Dougie...lovely white stuff, such a clean looking image.
Well that was worth the trip out even if it was so blooming cold! Looks just fantastic Dougie.
Super snow scene
I'd love to have been first but there were other footprints, two sets I think and some deer.
No dafties yet walking out on the ice but the weekend will bring them no doubt.
superb wintry picture - I am looking thro all my folders for a landscape image I can submit for a competition locally and all or most of my shots are birds, hubs keeps telling me he sees any I choose as trees or buildings and I am getting desperate.
Gorgeous scene Dougie and all the better when viewed large. Lucky you to get up there when the snow was so pristine.
You lucky man ! Doug. Such an exhilerating scene, done justice ! Ron.
There's a lovely balance between smooth drifting snow and the textures in the foreground. Love those blue shadows.
I salute your devotion to the Cause, Dougie as well as this delightful masterpiece. I can't get my car out of the garage, let alone as far as the main road.....
Like the foreground interest in this Doug
Brilliant news to be able to get up there Dougie, what a wonderful winter scene, you can hardly see where the land ends and loch begins!
glad to see you got out dougie be a shame not too wouldnt it.
-10 here at 6am this morning and the inside of the car was frozen windscreen anyway, took ages to clear so i could get to work
Glad you made it out Dougie, great to see that view covered in snow, and with good light too.
Absolutely beautiful viewed LARGE. Superb light.
Well done to get up there, roads in West sound reasonable, wouldn't attempt it from the East at moment.
Absolutely beautiful! Fantastic when viewed in large version. Excellent shot indeed.
(I find I've just clicked on 30 and yes, I do consider myself lucky because it's such a lovely image; beautifully captured indeed).
Beautiful winter scene Dougie - hope you wrapped your camera up warm this time !
Chris it turns out that the battery needed a complete discharge and charge it's fine now. Thanks for the thought.
At least you got blue skies. It is diabolical here and not able to travel anywhere except on foot.
If eve a picture portrayed winter this is the one Dougie. A fantastic capture with the snow looking cold and white.
A beautiful capture Dougie did wonder when you were going to out and about up there lol..
The Police have been hammering on about not going out, seems they did a great job, when I was up there only trucks were passing with only the occasional car.
Lovely snowy image. Just has to be viewed large.
. . lovely light Dougie and a super scene! . . it looks a bit like Dorset [if I did'nt know better] . . most likly all gone tomorrow when i have the time
This place has so many moods - covered in snow is always the best! Lovely winter landscape again Dougie.
I've been trying to imagine what it is like here at the moment and this doesn't disappoint. Definately a case of he who dares wins.
Superb winter shot, the side lighting enhancing the f.g detail and textures beautifully, Dougie. I think you are very brave venturing up there...glad the roads were easily negotiable.
Thanks for showing us what Rannoch moor has been like recently Dougie. I'm glad you found the journey fairly trouble free.
