...bitterly cold and snow showers blew in from the North East across Loch Scavaig, blotting out the mountains at times, on top of the cliff there's nowhere to shelter, you just stand and take it.

Gary,
I was lucky only the one boat was on a mooring, the rest were still out fishing.
One of the days we were on the cliffs a couple of guys waved from their inflatable, we replied of course, they had come from Soay, it's a long way in a tiny wee boat.

The hard bit was shielding the camera filters. They don't make a Gore Tex filter at Lee... yet.

The weather conditions have given you some lovely dramatic skies Dougie and you have made super job of capturing them.

A wonderful and amazing seascape Dougie. The lack of blue sky doesn't hinder you.

A lovely composition, Dougie, with the emphasis on the light and cloud. Lovely work.

This image has an unusual affect for me. Normally I start at the bottom of an image but here I am drawn immediately to the top of the image to the mass of cloud that then takes me down to the mountains. My eyes then wander about taking in the whole of the scene in front of me...like it lots and am smiling to myself as I spy the little white dots below Blaven Smile...memories are made of this.

My fave film is a comdey starring Jack Nicholson and has nothing to do with this image except for the title.

One of mine too, Helen Hunt plays a great foil to Nicholson, they both won Oscars for the movie.

Cheers Johanna, that's what I thought at the time, blizzards blowing across and it was cold, just a bit cold.
