...another from this spot I thought this one deserved an airing as well. I think the person who placed the boulders in the water was a photographer or an artist, such beautiful precision.

The sweeping curve of the shore, those stones leading in towards the castle, the little spit of land projecting into the water further round, the castle itself, and of course the colour - all play second fiddle to the superb rippled reflection which for me is the glory of this image.

Lovely composition Dougie, like those curves and the stonework in the old tower. The stones in the water seen to have positioned by size as well, maybe to create the illusion of perspective or are they just natural Smile

Saw some today down the coast, Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway but not a lot. The path has just been rebuilt and I'm sure somebody had some fun, see how many mugs see them?
