...of Rape Seed, growing in Fife, Scotland. The fields are awash with this pungent crop, it's hard work walking amongst it, full of flies and the smell grabs your nostrils.
Lead in line works brilliantly - great sky too.
Excellent conversion Dougie
Excellent image. Love the sky and the beautiful presentation. Works well in mono.
Have a great weekend.
I am not really sure about the conversion Dougie - the hill at the back seems very dark and is only a big black lump. But well, that's me - I like to see the landscapes in their colourful beauty.
Perhaps the smell is not that overpowering in b/w?
Have a good, dry weekend,
Wot, no colour??
A bit of a departure from your usual, Doug. But good, all the same!
Makes a lovely mono Doug.Love the light and composition.
Really, really like this. The sky and the rape convert very well and personally I think the black hills add to the contrast and finish the whole scene off.
I just wrote that before looking at the large version, large is excellent.
Great details all around ,lovely conversion.
great to see a shot of this in b&w... i agree with Phil as it was the dark hill in thumbnail that grabbed my attention
Large is superb. There are some wonderful tones in there.
well there's a shot I'd never thought of - mono rape seeds
goes against the grain, most people take these specifically for the yellowness of the fields, so lots of bronie points for originality
good sky and blob of blackness balance the flowery whiteness of the rape plants
Super mono, especially viewed LARGE for detail. The lead-in lines toward the strip of black hills works well.
nice - I like it
mono conversion of rape seed isn't something that i have seen or thought of! this has worked very well
the lead in thro clearing to distant dip in hills is great
Raw landscape Doug, love the mono conversion. Ron.
Lovely B&W, good shadow detail in the lead-in and foreground Dougie.
Got your drift with the ponies
Definitely Different - mono rape. Really brings out the textures within the field, balancing those of the clouds. And the dark horizon splitting them.
Refreshing to see a white version of rapeseed
Like the tones and your lead in Dougie - great sky. Works well in B/W
Enjoy your weekend.
When I first saw the thumbnail it was the lead-in track that I noticed first. I can imagine the colour; you have expressed texture here instead, very imaginitively.
When I catch sight of such a field I switch the car's air co. to recirculate; but by then the smell has already filtered in. Oh, well...
Great lead in ..... I still shave to shield my eyes from the intensity of the yellow ....even though it's in mono!!!!!!!!
Would never have thought of doing a field of rape in mono, but it works really well.
How many times have I thought the same thought from a favourite spot of mine? Cheers Sue nice to hear from you.
It works Dougie..but like the coloured one better...
Great conversion, Dougie, but I like the colour version best.
Stunning image, prefer this to the colour version.
