...of Rape Seed, growing in Fife, Scotland. The fields are awash with this pungent crop, it's hard work walking amongst it, full of flies and the smell grabs your nostrils.

I am not really sure about the conversion Dougie - the hill at the back seems very dark and is only a big black lump. But well, that's me - I like to see the landscapes in their colourful beauty.
Perhaps the smell is not that overpowering in b/w? Smile

Have a good, dry weekend,
Johanna

A bit of a departure from your usual, Doug. But good, all the same!

Really, really like this. The sky and the rape convert very well and personally I think the black hills add to the contrast and finish the whole scene off.
I just wrote that before looking at the large version, large is excellent.

well there's a shot I'd never thought of - mono rape seeds Smile

goes against the grain, most people take these specifically for the yellowness of the fields, so lots of bronie points for originality

good sky and blob of blackness balance the flowery whiteness of the rape plants

Super mono, especially viewed LARGE for detail. The lead-in lines toward the strip of black hills works well.

Definitely Different - mono rape. Really brings out the textures within the field, balancing those of the clouds. And the dark horizon splitting them.

When I first saw the thumbnail it was the lead-in track that I noticed first. I can imagine the colour; you have expressed texture here instead, very imaginitively.

When I catch sight of such a field I switch the car's air co. to recirculate; but by then the smell has already filtered in. Oh, well...

Regards
Bill
