My favourite Lochan with the most photographed tree in Scotland.
great shot, i really like the feel of b+w mountainous landscape.
certainly gets my click.
Can see why it's your favourite Dougie. Wonderful light and reflections. Works well in B&W.
great capture and tones
This is just fabulous, I would be proud to have taken a shot like this.
Looks stunning when viewed full size, quality work.
Works extremely well in B&W Dougie, super shot.
Absolutely gorgeous. Click
Large version is stunning
Stunning, first time I've seen a B&W version of this - works wonderfully.
Certainly done the tree justice! Beauty of an image.
Hello Dougie, another fine shot coming from the spiritual home of landscape photographers...the tree featurs well as does Blackmount, in fact the monotone shot gives the light a late winter early evening feel. Nice shot.
Many many thanks to you all for such kind comments.
I always loved black and white even way back in the days when there was no choice. There just seems to be a wee bit extra drama to mono that colour lacks.
All the best to you all
And thanks again, Dougie
B&w seemed a strange choice when I first opened this but it works really well with the scene, georgous shot, very dramatic
I running out of things to say yet another great photograph.
Wonderful. You're right, the black and white just adds that little bit extra here.
Fabulous shot Douglas,i love this in b&w,so different and the tree makes it for me.excellent work, well done
Simply superb winter image, works well in b/w.
Outstanding, works for me in B+W.
Excellent image. B&W really shows this image at it's best. Click
A simply superb shot - great B&W
Lovely pic, well suited to b&w - the sort of pic back in darkroom days that would give you an excited buzz as it appears in the developer tray! Well done.
Definately deserves the RC!
Get this printed - it's stunning!
A stunning shot.
Superb in every way. Excellent choice to put it up in b&w.
congrat's on the RC.
A superb photo, one I'd be proud to have taken, great work.
Works very well indeed as a B&W.
Great location & a Great shot.
Excellent monochrome landscape
Ditto all the above, Dougie. Wonderful shot.
Fantastic light, the beautiful tone gives this shot real mood. stunning!
A trully superb monochrome - full tonal range with crisp blacks and clear whites.
This is exquisite!
My favourite lochan too Dougie, the B&W works well, lovely reflections on the still water.
Doug is back at work today, hope he can get these days off again when there is a bit of sunshine about!
Thanks Louise, but what is this sunshine thing, I have fague memories of that.
Let's hope we see it soon
Stunning B&W snowscape, well taken.
Its a corker Dougie, and great to see a b/w version of this scene, one heck of a portfolio by the way, cheers
works really well in bw, nice one
great black and white pic
Excellent - a common tree - but an uncommon photograph - seen this view so many times but this is a stand out. Excellent, Click, Martin
Ssssh Martin, you must never call this tree common, often photographed, never common. The tree fairies will get you if you come up here.
Thanks for the nice comment I loved the expierience when I saw this and the buzz when it looked the same in the computer darkroom. I do miss the slippy soles on my shoes from the fixer in the old wet darkrooms, I used to slide all over the place as a lad in Edinburgh when I came out the darkroom and it had been raining. That was the only "chemicals" you used in my time.
All the best
quality image Doug looks great in B+W
Great, better in BW :o)
