...finally the sun managed to punch a hole in the cloud cover and find the bush where we were positioned in the cold wind.

Only been there once and it looked just like this, especially the dark, brooding sky!
A fine capture, Dougie and a great use of the square format to create a very well balanced image.

Lovely stuff Smile

I think I remember the original but I do not remember noticing the tiny red berries in the tree; they contrast rather nicely with the heather. Superb composition.
Once only I drove that road, alone, in a cloudburst; Whitsun 1976 I think. I remember the road but not the landscape Sad

I think this is one of the best that I have seen from this spot. You have really good depth and some nice colour in the heather and berries(?) in the foreground tree. The crop works well. You have inspired me to revisit this location!

A spot I'd love to visit again, Dougie: such a fabulous bit of the Skye scene and so interesting geologically. You have captured this one under such excellent light conditions, and in such a pleasing composition.

How fair was thou in summer time
Wi' a'thy clusters white
How rich and gay thy autumn dress,
Wi' berries red and bright!
On thy fair stem were mony names
Which now nae mair I see
But they're engraven on my heart,
Forget they ne'er can be
Oh rowan tree

This is such a beautiful image Dougie, heart-warming on a cold winter day.
