...were forming in the folds and creases on the side of Liathach as the sun dipped behind the mountains of Torridon.
Showing up the contours wonderfully.
Again, the contrast between the sunlit mountainside and the shadowed f/g provides an intriguing contrast, Dougie, and the side lighting does show up the structure of the face so well, with all the gullies and channels.
The textures of the mountainsides are beginning to show up well. And I do love mountain textures. But I must have said that all before.
Like the light in this Dougie, makes that mountainside stand out well
Fabulous light to show this mountain to its prettiest.
Again, another wonderfully atmospheric image from you in Torridon Dougie. I can feel it might be a bit chilly with the sun disappearing - but the mountains still have that warmth. Lovely stuff!
Time when all the people in the shadows go put a sweater on. Lovely colour on the mountains.......Sandy
Beautiful !!!.....wonderful light & colour on that hill side !!!
Light, dark but detail throughout.
Love watching the play of light as it travels across a mountainside - this is excellent.
Beautiful tones and light once more, Dougie. Lovely image.
Like the smaller trees there in the foreground Dougie, then over to the colours in the reflection
and oh boy that mountain to behold..magnificent shot
Spectacular !! Dougie.
Absolutely love it
I am sure to you this is just your normal for Scotland and where you live Dougie but for me its absolutely spellbinding magic and I wish I could have been there but at least I can share this moment with you for a few brief seconds, great shot - when out I am always thinking landscape and boring shots my way but maybe it would be as interesting to you as your pics are to me great work with lovely light
Great shot Doug, and posted on my birthday too!
Just curious what you use to calculate where the sun sets or do you wait and see what happens on location?
I find Torridon difficult to shoot at the 'magic hours' as the sun never really seems to rise or set in the right place for me. And there's all those lovely mountains blocking the light
The light on that mountain is amazing.
