...an image from the 70's when I worked as a Press photographer. Taken in Black & White, probably FP4 and developed in Microphen. This is copied from an old print.
The lady in the image is Betty Munt as I recall, she was a well known dog shower at the time, a character as was described to me. I think Betty may still be in the dog show world as a Judge now with her beloved Dachshunds.

I was convinced this was going to be one of Bernie (imagio)'s pictures from the 1970s! Wonderful, beautiful in its way, love it. Such delicacy in both figures...

No wonder the dog is so small, it must've spent most of it's life in the shade Wink

A superb press photograph whose initial impact may rely on the contrast in size and shape but which has plenty of detail and a dof that explains the background while preventing it from intruding. Lovely!

I love this one Dougie and it is certainly my kind of photography. Unfortunaely i do nothave the opportunity to involve myself in it now. Doing this kindof work involves thinking on your feet and it is just so so diferent from any other type of photography.

Ahhh - FP4 and Microphen - the memories; though I usually used ID11 which I made up from the raw chemicals, bought in bulk. I'm sure I've still got almost full containers of metol and hydroquinone somewhere.

Belies the theory of owners looking like their dogs!
Funnily enough, our family had 3 daschounds in succession through the 60s and 70s.....suffice to say I've inherited the Phillips conk and challenged inside leg measurement!

Really funny photo by the way...and what a surname!

I do believe Betty & her Pipersvale Dachshunds are still going strong, she gave challenge certificates at one of the recent Championship shows.
A character indeed,I remember her well from my showing days.
Excellent capture,one I wish I had taken.
