...The ice was solid in parts of the Lochan and the reeds were stiff in the cold, the ground crackled as i walked across to a spot I really like.
So very well observed, composed, exposed and captured Dougie...
Superb winter scene.
"...the ground crackled..." ...Just so long as the ice didn't!
That, Dougie, is an absolute Corker.
( ...and thanks for pointing out that colour problem, I can't believe I missed that. Getting careless in me auld age, tch, tch! )
guess winter is on the way then ????
Stunning image....love that little cloud on the peak.
A cold night in the Glen - well worth the visit Dougie.
Good comp and details too
just simly an "I want to be there" image!
Be careful on ice Dougie, worth it though !!!
Lovely scene Dougie. I like the orange coming through the snow and the reeds in the foregreound look great and sharp as a tack. I was up there again this morning and the snow has receded a bit further up the hill.
Beautiful composition!! Excellent image!!
A combination of the winter colours, yellows and browns with a dusting of snow on the tops and ice in the water: I can only echo Paul's remarks.
Ronnie:: that's very kind, your sunflower makes my day that much better.
Paul:: I had the feeling that it would receded Paul there was a difference to be seen between our images of the snow line.
Ron:: I was off the ice, I doubt it was that thick form to stand on.
A beautiful winter scene Dougie. Couldn't be painted better.
A stunner, Dougie, as said so often above.
Perhaps a bit too crisp for me - the weather, I mean, not the photograph
Coming up to the time Dougie when we get all these young idiots,
walking on the icy parts of the Water of Leith.
It chills me to see them doing it,but they heed no attention to me !!
Good chilly shot here.
I can only agree Mick, a silly way to lose your life.
That looks so very icy - a very well captured scene.
By eck that looks cold. Smashing shot.
Those wonderful curved reeds catching the light again. One of the joys of winter. Well there has to be something positive.
I really like this spot too Dougie, having seen it in your pf before. I've never been - but I must one day. This is beautiful with the wee rock echoing its big brother behind and those reeds caught in the ice. I love the winter - this shot just wouldn't be the same in summer - imho! Thanks for suffering the cold for our benefit.
A super image Dougie, love the whispy reeds all bending away out of the cold - winter is certainly creeping up on us ! A great time of year !
Well... this is sheer homesickness!
Booked our flights for Scotland today. 6-14th Feb.
wonderful comp and detail dougie a cracker nice one
Fine shot !!
Lovely ! brave man being out and about ! I'll stay cosy indoors and take in your spectacular views ! gillx
A real beauty Dougie but I am so pleased I wasn't there with you. My bed is too warm these mornings.Keep at it . It will keep you young.
The colour and light here looks beautiful and very natural. A simple composition but with so much to look at. Fir me its those bent reeds catching the light which lift the image so close to perfection. wonderful image Dougie.
One where the image says it all. Superb technical skills and compositional arrangement. Gem of a shot
Wonderful feeling of crisp winter about this one
