I like the way the castle just peeks in on the left, a by-stander. It's about the mood, the light, the emptiness.

I thought perhaps your were laid low with an upset stomach after a bit of haggis at a Burns Supper !!
Good shot.
(And I was at a Burns Supper too.They had a raffle.The second prize was the Supper was free.
The first prize was,you did not HAVE to eat it !!)

And that rare slice of light is just where it should be, Dougie - in a place in which it can emphasise the structure of the old castle. An in addition to the light, that's a magnificent sky.

This is a wonderful composition, with the light in the bg of the castle, nice sky throughout.
