...another from a few weeks back when the Lochs were flattened by the high pressure over Scotland. The Kirk isn't as old as I thought, opened by the then Moderator of the Church of Scotland in October 1849.

good dark pastel hues in the layers of the trees and the kirk makes for an interesting focal point Dougie. I think the large tree in the foreground adds greatly to the composition too.

I thought the tree was a reflection in the water...but it's not! It puzzled me a bit but it's quite an amazing pic ...lots of depth and wonderful colours.

Awesome light in just the right places Dougie. 1849 was a big year for San Francisco. It was the big gold rush. In 2years, it went from a few shacks to 100,000 people, with only 3,000 women (2,700 of whom were prostitutes but anyway...)

I'm gone for a short while and you've put up a bunch of good new ones. I'll have to take a look after work!

Hey Dougie,

I adjusted the levels on my Spring Oaks shot just a bit like you mentioned to darken it a bit and add a little more contrast. It does add a bit more punch to it and a little more magic. Thanks!
