...still not been very far for weeks now, the days are so short and the light seems to be somewhere else.
The clouds were flying about as the weather changed yet again. There's snow on the mountain now of course.

Gorgeous light, in fact, Dougie. And what Moira would refer to as a positive composition with its diagonal rising from bottom left to top right. Nicer than snow . . . . .

Bill

Just that hint of light hitting the base; yes, very positive, buoyant. A promise for next year, I hope.

Beautiful light, great sky and a strong composition with the diagonal and tree lead-in.

As you say, there has been such poor light recently, and for such a short period of the day. The dark BEM and f/g with that band of light on the lower slopes between make for a striking shot, Dougie, whilst the line of birches leads the eye in nicely.

Great light, of course, and I like that line of birches on the right. Beautiful colour on the moor too.

Well i suppose there is a bit of light about, and you were lucky there was a hillside there. Some twigs which lead the eye right into the central part of the image and you were a bit fortunate with that sky. Overall a decent enough image...in fact MAGICAL.
