Caught my eye as I browsed the gallery Dougie....certainly have a certain something about them - well seen and captured - crtacking detail and a good composition.

All good things come to an end, 'though its sad to see. I think your right though about it retaining a certain grandness. Your framing of the picture works very well and, as usual, the quality is excellent.

The light and shadows here are absolutely wonderful, they bring out so much depth and texture. The trees have a monumental feel, they remind me of standing stones.

An unusual sight in a formal layout, natural damage not felling. I can imagine the stumps enduring for a wee while yet. Your choice of viewpoint gives much more than a hint of their lofty magnificence. A lovely image.

I have really enjoyed looking at this beautiful, finely detailed image. It's a shame about the trees but they were obviously very grand in their time. The colours and light are superb.
