...the railway line meanders across the Flow Country from Inverness to Thurso following the villages and the high ground. Carefully missing the peat hags and softer ground.

A complete change in weather for today's image.

Lovely image with soft colours. I like the windy railway. We visited in summer when the sun was high and it looked so different. But a wonderful place.

I just love the sinuous curve Smile
Well, I love the rest too, if you see what I mean.
Maybe I should have set the first-sentence 'love' in bold to imitate my tone of voice. Or my tone of thought, as I didn't actually utter the comment.
Oh, well . . .
Regards
Bill

Man leaving his signature on the landscape. That's a very incisive capital S.

you are on the right tracks with this one Dougie. Tracks that curve right through the countryside with just a hint of sunlight picking out the rails.

Love the curves of rail & fences, &, like Bill, everything else.
Think you've done a tour of my old fishing haunts, before photography took over !

The S bend of the rail carries the eye through the scene and wants to take you round the bend and explore further: that old Scots pine is so well placed and a delight to see.

Yes, I too like the lines and the tones. Then the pine has grown so cooperatively in the perfect place and is so well set off by the smooth light behind it. Beautiful scene, perfectly captured.
