...taken the same day in December 2009 as yesterday's image. I was over the moon with the frost and light and didn't know whether to stay or move to a different place. This is as you will know my favourite loch in Scotland.
Fabulous photograph. Glorious colours.
Could not be a better time to photograph with the frost
This image is amazing, the colours, the sharpness the way you've managed to fit in so much landscape! We'll done you x
Great shot well done
I love this image!!
An iconic location that you have almost on your doorstep Dougie. Fabulous landscape with all that mood, a dilema I would love to have as I have never seen Loch Ba in snow !! Where do you park for this ? Ron.
The boys are on their way up here again in a couple of weeks Doug.Hope they get some more goodies.
This one has got it all - frosty reeds in the blue water, fluffy clouds, russet tones and snow on the peaks. Oh and fabulous blue shadows.
OOoooohh my toes is froze already.........
If I describe this as having crisp detail I am bound to be right. Magnificent.
I can well understand why it's your favourite, Dougie: this image has everything just as "mrswooylbill" has said.
Fantastic landscape image...............Rob
A grand scene with lovely crisp light, & gorgeous detailing in the vegetation......& "by the 'eck" it looks a tad chilly !!......1st class !!
Like the light and the good details in the foreground that the frost has given the grasses. Certainly looks a cold morning, but worth being out.
Seriously beautiful shot Dougie, with the wonderfully frosty detail and lovely colours.
Fabulous image Dougie - well done !
New camera Dougie? Looks like you're making the most of it with this magnificant view of the Lochan, which is also one of my favourite places.
I looked and looked at all the beautiful colours and details, shadows and highlights and then I stopped at that little tree. Standing there like it owns the place. What a gorgeous view it has. Love this ..............Sandy
Oh it does own the place Sandy. Thanks very much for your kind comment and your UserAward, I like getting awards from other photographers so much. I'm glad you enjoyed the image, I was happy as a sandboy when I took it. Thanks again.:
Well now, Dougie that really is a rather splendid photograph. Outstanding photography of Am Monadh Dubh across Lochan na h-Achlaise. The only reason I can clearly recall the spelling of the name is because as a Welsh speaker the Black Mount in Welsh would be Mynydd Du which doesn't seem that different even though it's a totally different branch of the Celtic languages. I continue to really enjoy viewing your excellent images.
*jealous now* Great shot Dougie, I have always wanted to be there with this type of scene, but everytime I have been up, its always been drab and grey here..ah well maybe one day!
Brilliant in very way!
Another beautiful frosty image - I can feel the coldness of the day!
Pretty special this Dougie, like it lots
Superb Dougie - one of your very best...
A beautiful combination of warm and cold colours.
Superb colours in this Dougie.....would be on the top of many tog fave places up your way I reckon.
Excellent and stunning. No wonder it is your favourite place.
Well done getting another award Dougie. It certtainly deserves it. The composition, clarity and light are just wonderful.
