...the breeze sent ripples of light across the barley setting the scene both glorious and mesmerising.
This is gorgeous, love the lead in with the tractor tracks, the glorious golden barley (YAY, raw whisky) and that foreboding sky.
brilliant lead in dougie wonderful colour and light and what a sky too a belter nice one
Brilliantwith a lovely colour
Nothing but land and sky, but what a brilliant combination here Dougie. Beautiful colour and movement throughout that barley. Moira
I am dreaming here.....
what a great image
Like the foreground details and the golden colours in this Dougie, good sky to balance it too
Quote: both glorious and mesmerising
That says it all.
Waving heads to the horizon: so simple but so effective, Dougie.
Ready for harvesting Dougie, late summer.
A gob smacking landscape, I just hope you reap many benefits,
Quite a quirky, eccentric composition, with the tracks in the barley leading to the edge of the frame, via that nice squiggle.
I can't help wanting a bit more on the left,
a) to give more length to the left-hand track and
b) to complete the square.
Midge-free? Have they gone vegetarian??
'Tis always a delightful sight, the gently swaying barley as far as the eye can see. And from a photographic point, what better sky to set off the image perfectly, adding a touch of drama to the dream-like visage of the barley.
Wonderful composition Dougie - so simple and so beautiful. Love the colour of the barley and that magic sky is amazing!
What a gorgeous foreground and great lead-in line. Wonderful colour detail and composition, Dougie m8.
I have been thinking about you this afternoon as I approached a similar set up. I will have a look and maybe upload although the content is not nearly as effective as this as I could not get into the field. The gate was padlocked and I cannot climb fences yet.
Very nice indeed..
I am inclined to agree with Moira that I would like to see a bit more to the left, so the track is not on the edge, but still a cracker.
There will be a variation another day for the doubters...
Gorgeous picture I thought Scotland was all hills and I have been moaning we are flat and boring here, nothing boring about your picture Dougie it's a cracking shot, nice golden glory in them thar fields
Nice scene from the Harvest Doug..nearly !!!!!
A bit late with my award for this Dougie! Love the composition and I look forward to seeing another version as you promise.
Wow thanks Ann, I'm well pleased to get this award. Never too late my friend.
Dramatic sweeping view full of movement.
You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we walk in the fields of gold
(Sting - Fields of Gold)
Such a beautiful sight - I can feel the breeze, it is visible.
Perfectly exposed, composed and timed. It evokes so many good feelings and smells and makes up in part for the lack of summer here - a joy to view.
very effective. like the colour and slow shutterspeed to catch the movement.lesley
