This is gorgeous, love the lead in with the tractor tracks, the glorious golden barley (YAY, raw whisky) and that foreboding sky.

Nothing but land and sky, but what a brilliant combination here Dougie. Beautiful colour and movement throughout that barley. Moira

Quite a quirky, eccentric composition, with the tracks in the barley leading to the edge of the frame, via that nice squiggle.
I can't help wanting a bit more on the left,
a) to give more length to the left-hand track and
b) to complete the square.
Midge-free? Have they gone vegetarian??

'Tis always a delightful sight, the gently swaying barley as far as the eye can see. And from a photographic point, what better sky to set off the image perfectly, adding a touch of drama to the dream-like visage of the barley.

I have been thinking about you this afternoon as I approached a similar set up. I will have a look and maybe upload although the content is not nearly as effective as this as I could not get into the field. The gate was padlocked and I cannot climb fences yet.

Very nice indeed..
I am inclined to agree with Moira that I would like to see a bit more to the left, so the track is not on the edge, but still a cracker. Smile

You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we walk in the fields of gold
(Sting - Fields of Gold)

Such a beautiful sight - I can feel the breeze, it is visible.

Perfectly exposed, composed and timed. It evokes so many good feelings and smells and makes up in part for the lack of summer here - a joy to view.
