...the crofter was taking in some late grass as the storm was looming in the mountains to the south. I was heading along the road into the storm.

Good to see you again, Dougie: we too are hiding away for a few days. . . . .
I feel as if I'm being pulled very strongly into this picture; the loch and the wee road offer a tentative escape to either side but it avails them little: I'm heading across the sunlit fields for the gap in the hills!

So atmospheric, with the heavy storm approaching, soon to smoother the brighter fore and middle grounds: the line of the shore and the estuary carry the eye into the storm very effectively, Dougie.
Great to see this part of the land which I am never likely to visit.

Wow, what a beautiful landscape Dougie. Would be quite dramatic anyway, but those clouds and rain just add that something special to the shot. Hope you were in your car heading into it Grin. Moira

Only Scotland is able to produce this sort of light and sky. Brilliant colours and wonderful clouds. A brilliant landscape.

Tells a story - man eking out a living from an essentially hostile world.

Scotland at its very best. Beautiful, gritty, raw and rich.

One of my favourite spots. Love that threatening sky with all its textures. Interesting to see straw bales in a stormy landscape rather than the usual sunny one.
