...another from my trip to Torridon last year. I had this waiting for a spell of quiet when I could do some b&w conversions.
The B and W presentation will have brought out the stratified detail that much the better I'd guess, Dougie: that's a nice bit of brightness catching in the centre of the mountain's flank. amidst the otherwise shady scene.
Meant to comment on the composition with the pleasing diagonal........but my memory is somewhat suspect these days.
Oh I know the feeling well Ronnie.
I find myself looking for a mountain climber, man or goat. Such fine detail, especially in the lit up areas. ......Sandy
Makes for a fine toned mono shot Dougie.
( And yes,you were correct about the airfield being East Fortune).
Dougie, what a stunning mono, the lighting is super... Very nice capture.
Not bad for a beginner..........Just a enough hint of those clouds to settle the whole thing down.
I think it can be quite difficult to take a B&W landscape sometimes, but this one is gorgeous! I love the highlight right down the middle
Came back for another look.
A stern, forbidding mountainside relieved by welcome patches of light on a pleasantly rotund centre.
Hope that doesn't sound too much like my self-portrait
Ronnie many thanks for your Award, makes it all worthwhile.
Rather beautifully grim.
lovely bit of light, and detail Dougie, and mono looks good too.
It all takes time Dougie I was only saying this earlier to a friend - good strong mono image
Cannot image walkers getting up the top there...whew!! that
is so steep! a beautiful black & white
I like the dappled lighting, and the details brought out in the highlighted areas Dougie.
Great detail in this big hunchback of rock
That's a serious rock face - not a blade of grass anywhere (as far as I can see). Mighty and magnificent!
Like the use of mono for this Dougie, the light has brought out the details in the rock well
Many Thanks Mark, I hope you are enjoying your spell as Guest Editor, a mammoth task.
Beautiful, perfectly judged image. Marvellously subtle light in that top right quadrant. Sheer good taste.
Missed this one ?????
Great shot !!......lovely sense of immense bulk & majesty !!!
I always fancied climbing this beauty, years back, but never got round to it.....did Bheinn Eighe though, next to it !!!
Alas advancing years, aching joints, etc., have put paid to any such ideas for the future......
That's very kind Ronnie, many thanks my friend.
