...my good friend and companion landscaper on Skye, Claire Carter, gets herself lost in the waters at Talisker Bay, as they swirl and churn up the two coloured sand.

Strong composition, Dougie, with interesting patterns in the f/g sand and water. And I do like the inclusion occasionally of a figure in landscapes to provide human interest and also a sense of scale.

Lost in Talisker? Surely you just follow your nose to the distillery and then have a medicinal dram or three to help you over your traumatic experience? Wink

That sand really is something special and you've used it to great effect in your composition. I'm not usually one for people in a landscape but seeing that it's such a respected tog, I'll forgive you on this occasion, Dougie.

The patterns in the sand and water lead us beautifully into the beach and hills beyond and although I too am not usually a fan of people in landscapes, it not only seems right here but actually an essential part of the image. A very special picture. Smile

Wow, pretty amazing image Dougie....the patterns in the sand are something else...its got an almost silvery look about it....this I take it is a combination of the sand on Talisker and the light?

At least when I walk into your frame you make the most of it Dougie. I was mesmerised by the black and white patterns in the sands - it is quite a sight.

Very nice capture and writeup. Your friend Sky Claire adds a touch of charm to the landscape and gives it a sense of scale. Looks like she is waiting for you to catch up Smile
