...Ailsa Craig in the middle of the River Clyde. Scotlands curling stones are made from the stone found on this island.
Stunning mono Dougie and honoured to be the first to comment!
Well thanks Chris, and especially for your UA award.
Mysterious island Dougie, well done on U/A. Ron.
What wonderful mist! I've looked out at this and seen a plain pimple on the horizon, not this magic. Very simply beautiful.
Beautiful conditions, the rays of light were a bonus.
I like the atmosphere and mono worked well Dougie.
Oh! I love this Dougie - wonderful rays of light, just visible through the cloud - and the mist! Super
Many Thanks for your award Ann, I'm surprised and delighted by two awards on a monochrome image. They match my delight when I found this from the cliffs above Dunure.
Superb, Dougie, a dream-seascape.
Dougie, love the capture and the use of mono. Well done!
Bold and dramatic. The placement of Ailsa Craig puts the scale of the island in persective.
AFAIK Ailsa Craig used to be the only source of rock for curling stones in the world. I'm not sure if the rock is still used these days at all, but if it is it can't be much more than a cottage industry.
The rays shining down on to the mist on the horizon make for a most ethereal shot, Dougie......very nicely captured, and in a very original type composition.
A sight for sore Eyes Dougie.Excellent.
It looks so distant with the mist separating the peak from the sea
Do like that big sky Dougie, works well with the light fingers and mono tones.
Fantastic! Great light, the mist is absolutely beautiful, as is the sky and the wee island.
Excellent mono work Dougie, love the wonderful light you have captured here..
very mystical in its nature this one
Like it dougy
