...a storm brewing on the River Clyde inScotland, the lone yacht isn't far from a safe harbour but it looks like a major storm with the telephoto effect pulling the clouds and the yacht together.

I completely misread this when I opened it. I thought that was a toy boat on a shore, with clouds reflected in a still lake beyond. Quite extraordinary to realise the actual difference in scale!
An image of man's puniness and frailty.

The yacht is tiny, little more than a speck in the frame, yet the light on the sails makes it stand out. Man's place in the firmament is still significant . . .
Cracking composition.

Bill

Great expanse of sea & sky, & weather & the yacht so small. Is that Ailsa Craig in the distance ?

It is indeed Malcolm, sometimes the Arran ferry is on the water too.

An extremely well composed and captured photograph Dougie, the monochrome being so very apt.

Looks like a fragile boat in the open water, a dramatic composition

The yacht in isolation is magnificent with that brooding sky beyond - fabulous

a very impressive, if not scary scene. Well captured the broody mood, I'd run for shelter. Smile
That rock at the back looks like Ailsa Craig, but I suppose it can't be. Do you know what island it is?
