...in winter the pass is dark and brooding, the wall of mountain seems to close in on the road which winds north to Ballachulish or south over the Rannoch Moor to Tyndrum.

Impressive peaks; I like the way the image is divided into three layers by the different bands of colour/tone.

Dougie it must be so cold when you are out in these places. I'm sure I would have camera shake. Another very impressive landscape showing us the majesty of the mountains.

There's bleak, and then there's Scottish bleak. About as barren and inhospitable as I can imagine. Thanks for letting me enjoy it in cosy comfort.

Makes me wonder how far you have to drive from your home to get here. It looks like it could be treacherous to drive through. Is a superbly captured image......Sandy

Wonderful shape and form of these landmark mountains, I love the transition between the orange bottoms and snowy peaks, topped off with a bleak sky... wonderful Dougie

Spectacular and threatening Dougie, the bit of colour at the bottom brings it all to life for me.
Thanks for your comment on 'Desert Sunset'. We actually went out into the desert on a camel to shoot the sunset. If I had gone much higher so that you could see over the brow of the sand dune it wasn't quite so attractive.

Breathtaking photography Dougie. I can almost smell the sodden icy heather.

You could almost be accused of using selective colour here, Dougie.
A magnificent yet slightly threatening location, and this image brings out all its majesty.

Highland scenery at its best Dougie: a touch of snow and those lovely muted orange colours of the moors.

Nice one Dougie, Neil Wigan had an almost identical shot up the other night except his was in B&W and he had more to the left.
