I waited for quite some time here for the light to play across the Topping but it was not to be. I quite like this as a different view to the norm, I have more to come.
You must have been at some altitude there. You seem awfully close to the clouds.
Lovely shot anyway.
Lovely photo. really like it :o)
Not seen it from this angle before but it works. Great comp and detail and the sky compliments it well.
Love the way you have captured the hill between the two post,.well shot ...
Excellent composition. The sky is a little blown, but doesn't detract much.
Hello Dougie, This is the standard I would expect from one who has been 40 years taking photographs...the clarity is much better and the composition has an artistic element to your scene...my only criticsm is the sky which again is over exposed but a filter could have been employed to achieve a better balance in the cloud formation...all in all I don't know what you have done but a huge improvement in your exposure. See you around my friend.
quite a different view of the topping, but very effective. alan
Oh Yeah.....A Cracker
Nice composition, well done.
excellent shot, takes me back more years than I care to remember, seeing the topping again.
Brilliant composition, and the soft warm light enhances the image. I love the way the sky seems to light up the fields in the distance.
This looks like a postcard more than a photo, very pro, very nice.
Great shot, Paul.
Fine shot, beautifully composed. Sky's a little blown but doesn't detract in any way.
Hi Douglas,Amazing sky and cloud formation, love the light peeping through them, the path leading you into the picture and over the stile and away you go,love the tones/colours,textures,lighting,detail,exposure,warmth and moodiness, scenic quality and presentation.Awesome composition.take care.Ann
Lovely shot, I cant decide whether I like the hill in the gate though. It draws my eye just that little to much. Thats my own opinion though and I am only a newbie.
I agree it should work, but the hill is maybe too perfectly framed by the gate (?) just a thought. A lovely pastoral feel to it and I love the name - sounds like a Hobbit, and it looks like the Shire - lovely
Has it all,loverly.
Great shot! Love the colours and composition. Nice work
A lovely piece of landscapery, Dougie! Beautifully composed, I love how you have positioned the Topping on this.
Beautiful shot, a fantastic landscape and beautifully composed.
Just love the detail and light in this. Lovely composed image
Beautifully composed Dougie.
Lovely you didn't meet Joe Cornish going about did you as I believe this is his stomping ground.
Lovely shot. Well worth the wait for the proper lighting. I also like the use of the gate posts to frame the topping.
I don't know how I keep missing your superb portfolio, Douglas. You're becoming one of my favourites so I don't miss treats like this from now on. I love this image, particularly the way you have framed the hill's peak between the gate posts. The slightly bleached feature of the sky is a mere niggle and doesn't undermine the many strengths in this image. It's a beauty.
