Is the pier made of sea, or is the sea made of stone??
...And great light!

As they say, it's all about the light. Especially the way the higgledy-piggledy cobbles have been brought out.

A most beautiful seascape. The pier in the foreground providing not only a great lead in but immediate interest…

Are you sure it is a seagull Dougie..it looks like a Sea Eagle to me. Although it is only a small portion of the image that Pier is so important to it.

Some lovely tone and texture contrasts here Dougie. The composition is very good and I like the way that the sun rays echo the shape of the converging pier.

Beautifully converted to monochrome but it's the light this is all about.

A wonderful feature in a wonderful scene. There's a gothic drama about this image, enhanced by the B&W conversion.

An upload from you Dougie from a place I have ACTUALLY been to.
Was there a couple of years ago and that seagull must be stuffed.
I swear it was sitting there too !!
Good shot.
Mick.

It looks quite bleak Dougie - but very atmospheric with that lovely light and the lone gull patrolling the coast.

Pittenweem, Fife - some great memories. This image shows a wonderful sky - but it makes me sad.

Reminds of one of these grey plain stones that when cracked open reveals wonderful crystals inside. The suns rays split the skyand highlight the interesting scene.Wonderful!Gill
