...previously posted as Loch Maree in colour, I do like the B&W conversion too.
Taken on my trip to Torridon last year 2012.
Excellent mono landscape.
Strong composition, good separation of tones and elements and a great sky. Lovely work Dougie.
Un blanco y negro maravilloso.
It's brilliant in mono Dougie - all those shapes, textures and tones combine to make this a super image.
Thanks for your comment on the windmills - I know a lot of people are anti, as you are, but I quite like them . They cover the hills in Spain, hundreds of them in each farm, following the contours of the hillsides. We agree to differ. Having said that, I'd hate to see them in the Highlands! Contrary, moi?!
A super mono landscape image, well captured
Whatever...after being processed by you Dougie..it's a winner!
and here you have a beautiful mono landscape
Almost 3D, Dougie. Especially the fg stands out proud. Almost as if you had used fg flash. The range of tones is marvellous and create a stunning b&w conversion. An excellent choice for b&w.
Oh how I wish they would cut down that tree and plant some wind turbines in their place................................
That tree brings us right through into the image Dougie and is strategically place on a strong third . A great sky and a full range of tones make it a winner.
All the elements work together. As well as the excellent tonal gradation I like the rising line on which the tree stands and the echoing shape of a tiny tree in the distance.

He's a one that Danny!
Gorgeous shot !!!......lovely clarity in this beauty !!
Great detail, emphasized by the mono treatment, good lead-ins with a cracking sky.
Beautiful composition with great foreground and sky. Excellent B&W conversion Dougie.
love the composition Dougie
I have seen a not dissimilar view of Slioch many a time but never with these slabs of rocks in the f/g, Dougie: makes a nice change when you find an alternative to the 'standard', and your B and W presentation seems to suit this scene very well.
Fifty shades of grey... and a wonderful composition - that's one to convince me, that Scotland is beautiful even in monochrome!

I have to agree.
