...taken back in 2006, amazing the things you find on a hard drive. The Stac is one of the perfect little mountains in Wester Ross, Scotland. I keep promising myself a walk up to the top.
***2 images stitched.
Quality landscape Dougie. Ron.
The Stac was Jura's first walk when he was 4 months old...
Wonderful up there, and this image stirs fond memories.
A super shot.
Wonderful image of an iconic little mountain Dougie. Great sky to top off that view too.
Excellent stitching work Dougie, superb details and clarity on this one...
Brilliant, absolutly brilliant composition and landscape.
I'm fine so far, I'll be back on the site, soon.
Like the light and details in this Dougie, good sky to match the good foreground interest.
Well composed image from this lovely little bay in the loch, Dougie.
That peak looks pretty impressive, dark and brooding above the sunlit valley.
A little mountain, I like that idea... Just a hop and a skip to the summit...
Maybe a wee bit more than that Moira, it's steep to start then a bit easier with a decent path which goes all the way around the rocky summit. Spectacular views to the north .
That's a gorgeous cloudscape, Dougie. Looks like a peak I could haul myself up, too. I like the slightly muted tones in the f/g.
Just wish I could come across stuff like this on my hard drive, Dougie: a beautiful shot from a superb bit of the land.
A beautiful image, and the sky is fabulous. Keep searching that hard drive Dougie.............Sandy
These last few landscapes have been truly excellent. I was going to say you've stepped up a gear and then I noticed you took this back in 2006. So, instead, I'll say such wonderful consistency.
That's kind Malc, I can actually remember the day I took this, by the time I got down to the sandy bottom I was knackered and wet inside my waterproof jacket. But it was a fine result watching the sun moving down the glen and leavingthe mountain in shadow.
What a great dark looking mountain
Just beautiful Dougie.
Oh - the lovely Stac! I've been up there a few times - steep but "shortish" climb with wonderful views. You can just see the roof of my husband's crofthouse from there. This is so evocative - heather, rocks, those reeds I'm always trying to capture unsuccessfully, beautiful clouds (no midges) and the Stac itself!
love the reeds growing amongst the water along with a gorgeous sky, something we have not seen of late
A quite stunning image Dougie. Beautiful balance of colour and just superbly composed and captured. I really cant fault it.
I agree with above. Excellent landscape photography.
Thanks for your user award Derek, very kind my friend. :
A great shot, and a beautiful location. I have been along that road many times. Thanks for sharing. BillM.
This shot is extremely pleasing to look at......doesn't quite look as if it it belongs in Scotland....but as I have seen it for myself I have no doubt that it is there!
nice light dougy
