...about to be swallowed by a rain cloud, as I was shortly after taking this image.

Achnahaird is full of wonderful vistas but you need eyes in the back of your head to spot them as you drive along the road to the Summer Isles.

A beautiful scene Dougie, so typical of that wonderful area.

A fine vista Dougie.
And I do not drive but I have a chauffeur with my wife.
And she has indeed eyes in the back of her head but she would still miss the vistas.
She would be too busy arguing with the poor girl in the Sat Nav !!

Quite simply gorgeous tones in the foreground heather and grasses, excellent detail too, and the composition of the vista is stunning.

Beautiful part of the world and this image captures the feel of it very nicely. Is the hydroponicum still running? I visited a couple of times as a kid while staying at Achnahaird camp site.

I didn't go in but it looks healthy and gets stranger looking each time I'm up there Al.

You have captured the essence of this part of the land very well in this shot, Dougie, and in a very pleasing composition: the eye moves from the f/g boulders to the lone boulder and then across along the second line of the triangle to Suilven: the warm colours add so much charm.
Ronnie.

A bit desolate out there Dougie. I doubt if I would last long but the effort of trying to get images like this just might keep me going.

Incidentally this is not word for word that I meant to type. My brain would just not recall a couple of everyday words. I reckon the men in white coats will be here soon....and they won't be ice cream vendors.

Yes, that cloud has a predatory look.
Everything empty, desolate. Everything still, apart from the cloud.

That rock on the lhs above the water looks like an opening into another world, Dougie.
Perhaps that's where the white-coated men come from?Smile
